Buying guide
What size sauna do you actually need?
Buy for how you will use it on a Tuesday, not for the housewarming. Most home saunas are used by one or two people at a time, even in big households, so the honest starting point for most buyers is a 2 person model, moving up only if you will genuinely share sessions or want to recline flat.
1 person saunas
A 1 person cabin suits a dedicated corner, a condo, or anyone who wants the lowest price and the simplest install. The Sanctuary 1 has a 42.5 by 48.25 inch footprint, fits through a standard doorway in pieces, and is the only model in the line that plugs into an ordinary 120V/15A household outlet, so there is no electrician visit at all. From $10,495.
2 person saunas
The default pick. A 2 person model gives a solo user room to stretch and a couple room to sit without touching shoulders. The Sanctuary 2 runs 51.75 by 47.75 inches, about the footprint of a loveseat, and needs a 120V/20A circuit. If you are between sizes, size up: the price difference is small against the lifetime of the sauna, and nobody has ever complained about extra bench. From $11,795.
3 person saunas
A 3 person cabin is really a 2 person cabin with lounging room, and that is exactly why people buy it. One person can lie down along the bench, and two can sit with a comfortable gap. The Sanctuary 3 is the most popular model in the line for families. From $12,795.
4+ person and specialty layouts
Four person models suit shared households and anyone doing stretching or hot yoga inside the cabin. The Sanctuary C is the corner unit, using a footprint a rectangular cabin cannot, the Sanctuary Y seats four on facing benches, and the Sanctuary Retreat adds ADA compliant access, a wider door and room for a wheelchair transfer. Outdoors, the Serenity Sauna seats a family in a traditional cedar hot room.
The three measurements that matter
First, the footprint plus breathing room: allow a few inches of clearance on the sides for airflow and assembly access. Second, the doorway: cabins arrive in panels, so the panels, not the finished sauna, need to make the trip through halls and stairwells. Third, ceiling height: every Sanctuary model stands 77 inches tall, so a standard 8 foot basement ceiling clears comfortably, but check bulkheads and ducts. Every footprint is listed on our comparison page, and the verification call confirms access before anything ships.
